A Monument-al Luncheon and Auction to Benefit the Eureka Chinatown Monument
Make our monument a reality!
Help Eureka Chinatown Project (ECP) and Humboldt Asians & Pacific Islanders in Solidarity (HAPI) kick off our fundraising campaign with a spectacular event you won't want to miss! A Monument-al Luncheon & Auction to benefit the Eureka Chinatown Monument Sunday, May 7, 12-3 pm Bayfront Restaurant, 1st and F Streets, Eureka, CA $100/ticket
Enjoy delectable Chinese and Japanese dishes in a beautiful bayfront setting, a stone's throw from our proposed monument site.
The silent auction will feature many area artists and services including items coming from our Asian American community. We'll share our plans to build a permanent monument structure at 1st and E Streets in collaboration with the City of Eureka that will memorialize the bustling Chinatown which once existed in Eureka, the 1885 Chinese expulsion, the banishment for 70 years, and the eventual growth of a vibrant and diverse Asian American community.
ALL TICKET AND AUCTION SALES WILL BE MATCHED BY A GENEROUS LOCAL DONOR UP TO $45,000!
The Eureka Chinatown Project (ECP) is a project of the Humboldt Asians & Pacific Islanders in Solidarity (HAPI), which is a DreamMaker Project of the Ink People Center for the Arts, a non-profit (501)c3 community-based, grassroots, artist-run, arts and culture organization.
Find out more information about this event and past and future ECP and HAPI activities by going to the HAPI website: https://hapihumboldt.org. Please consider making a donation to the Monument Project separately from this event. Your money will be matched up to $45,000. (enter Monument in donate box)
